This is the starting price for the least extensive suitable pathway in this category, covering the mandatory pathway components rather than a clinic-only fee. Flights and specialist medical travel insurance are not included.

About this pathway
A considered deep plane face lift pathway
A deep plane face lift is a more advanced surgical approach. Suitability, technique and expected outcomes are confirmed only after surgeon review of your medical information and photographs.
Your pathway is shaped around your medical information, your preferred travel timeframe and what is suitable following surgeon review. We coordinate the practical elements so you can focus on preparing well and recovering calmly.
Important considerations
- Deep plane techniques are not appropriate for every patient.
- Surgeon assessment is required before this pathway is confirmed.
- Recovery is gradual and individual.
Understanding deep plane face lift
What deep plane face lift involves
A deep plane rhytidectomy releases the retaining ligaments of the face and lifts the skin and SMAS layer as a single composite unit, rather than separating them. Because the dissection sits deeper and closer to branches of the facial nerve, it is a technically demanding operation reserved for patients whose anatomy genuinely calls for it — typically mid-face descent and deep nasolabial folds that a standard SMAS lift would not address. Dr Mariam Manukyan confirms whether this technique is appropriate only after reviewing your photographs and medical history, and will recommend a conventional approach where it suits you better.
Also referred to as Deep plane rhytidectomy, Extended SMAS face lift.
Often suitable where
- Mid-face descent, deep nasolabial folds or heavy jowling
- Good general health with no significant healing risk factors
- Prepared for a longer, more gradual recovery than a standard face lift
- Comfortable that suitability is decided by the surgeon, not by request
Usually not appropriate where
- Mild laxity that a less extensive technique would address adequately
- Prior facial surgery or scarring the surgeon judges to raise the risk profile
- Unable to allow a longer recovery window before returning to commitments
These points are general guidance only. Suitability is decided by Dr Mariam V. Manukyan after reviewing your photographs and medical information, and may differ in your case.
Recovery timeline
How recovery typically unfolds
An indicative guide to deep plane face lift recovery. Individual healing varies, and your own timeline is confirmed by your surgeon.
Days 1–3
Hospital admission with elevated positioning, close monitoring and gentle mobilisation.
Days 4–10
Clinic-based recovery in Yerevan. Swelling typically peaks in the first week and then eases.
Weeks 2–6
Facial tightness and numbness are common and gradually improve. Social confidence usually returns between three and six weeks.
Months 3–12
Deeper swelling resolves slowly; the definitive result is generally assessed at around twelve months.
